As a graduate of the program, you may qualify for positions with titles such as service technician, central station operator, laboratory testing or energy management technician, testing and balancing technician, sales representative or design assistant.
Employers want technicians who can:
follow oral and written instructions;
demonstrate a broad knowledge of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating equipment;
practice exceptional human relations skills; and
learn new concepts and skills on their own.
Certificate program graduates may perform service, repair and maintain equipment or install equipment in new or existing buildings.
Industry Standards:
Under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act, the Environmental Protection Agency requires individuals to be certified before allowing them to work with refrigerants during the service, repair or disposal of appliances and industrial process refrigeration. TSTC's Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology offers testing to obtain this vital certification.
