Empower your Future
Apply: You can complete the online application at www.waco.tstc.edu. This form includes admission information and the Oath of Residency. Or, if you prefer a paper copy, contact the Admissions & Records Office. It is important to submit your completed application early in the enrollment process. For more information on admissions call 254-867-2360. *NOTE: The state of Texas requires that any incoming new student under 22 years of age who is enrolling in college must either receive a vaccination against bacterial meningitis or meet certain criteria for declining such a vaccination at least 10 days prior to the first day of class and provide appropriate documentation.
Complete the PAA and the CSI: Once your application has been processed, you will receive two emails from TSTC. The first email is your acceptance letter, which will include your Student ID number. Please keep this number on hand because you will need it during the remainder of the registration process. The second email will contain information about placement testing, including links to two required online activities: the PAA (Pre-Assessment Activity) and the CSI (College Student Inventory). Please complete both of these activities before continuing to the next item in the registration checklist.
Meet with a Success Coach: After you have completed the PAA and the CSI, you will need to visit the Advising & Retention office in the Student Services Center to have your first meeting with a Success Coach. If you have previously taken a state-approved test (TAKS, STAAR, TSI, SAT or ACT), bring a copy of your test scores and a copy of your high school or college transcripts at this time. For a complete listing of approved tests and scores, go to www.waco.tstc.edu/assessment or call the center at 254.867.3609. If you have prior military service, also bring a copy of your DD-214. The Success Coach will use all of the information you have provided to determine if you will need to take a placement test and what type of test that will be. If you do need to take a placement test, you will be able to pay for and schedule it in the Center for Assessment, located in the same area of the Student Services Center.
Apply for Financial Aid: For federal financial aid, complete the “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. TSTC Waco’s Federal School code is 003634. If you wish to apply for a Stafford loan, please answer “yes” to question No. 31 on the FAFSA. All loans will be processed through Loans by Web. You will receive instructions on how to complete the loan process after your loan is certified. For more information call 254.867.4814.
Check out Campus Living: All new, single students under the age of 21 without previous collegiate experience are required to live on campus.
