Before Texas State Technical College can issue an I-20AB form or an I-20MN form to any international student, the following items must be completed and received in the office of Admissions & Records at TSTC.

  • A complete application for admission form filled out in the English language.

  • Official transcripts from the applicant’s secondary school (equivalent to an U.S. High School) indicating the graduation date and official transcripts from any college-level institutions previously attended. If these transcripts are normally issued in a language other than English a certified translation must accompany them.

  • Official TOEFL score reports indicating a score of 213 or higher or an ELS certification level 109 or higher. These scores must be sent from the origination facility directly to the office of Admissions & Records at TSTC.

  • A statement of educational intent from the applicant indicating their proposed field of study and degree sought.

  • Applicant’s selection of major and degree type must be noted. Associate’s degree or Certificate of Completion determines the student status an applicant qualifies for under USCIS regulations. Students seeking an associate’s degree qualify for F-1 status.

  • Verification of adequate financial resources submitted on form I-134, available at USCIS.gov.
