Texas State Technical College also offers Certificate of Completion programs in Aircraft Powerplant. The estimated time for a full-time academically prepared student to complete each of the separate certificate programs is one year.

In preparing to earn Powerplant ratings, students gain hands-on experience working with turbine and reciprocating engines and other related systems. Students develop the skills to troubleshoot engine problems while learning theories behind engine functions.
