Salaries & Advancement:
Graduates may earn starting salaries from $20,000 to $30,000 per year. An average wage with experience and longevity is $42,000 to $52,000 per year.* Potential for advancement is excellent. *July 1998 issue of "Aviation Maintenance”
 
The Technical Advantage:
Aircraft maintenance technicians use many types of equipment, and TSTC offers its students exceptional opportunities to gain hands-on experience using that equipment. Some of the industry-standard tools used include:
  • Hand tools;
  • Power tools;
  • Pneumatic sheers;
  • Hydraulic test equipment;
  • Electronic test equipment; and
  • Precision measuring equipment.
Technicians in Demand:
AER graduates can look toward excellent employment opportunities worldwide. Forecast reports indicate the air carrier industry alone needs 10,000 certified A&P technicians per year.
 
Professional Associations:
Students are exposed to industry and established professionals. Professionals in this field can become active in organizations such as the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA), which promotes professionalism and recognition of the aviation maintenance technician.
