Welcome to the TSTC Waco Airport! Centrally located along the I-35 corridor, the TSTC Airport is convenient to an array of excellent transportation facilities and systems. Utilities are readily available to accommodate industrial growth in the area, and Waco and McLennan County — central to the four largest cities in the state — offer an outstanding quality of life.

While all of these attributes add appeal to the TSTC Waco Airport, perhaps the most impressive feature is the airport itself. It is the nation’s largest airport owned and operated by a public, two-year educational institution. It features a full-service flight facility with two parallel runways, a nearly 15-acre ramp, new operational control tower and gas at the airport FBO.

TSTC’s full range of FAA-approved programs – Aviation Maintenance, Air Traffic Control, Avionics, Aircraft Dispatch and Aircraft Pilot Training – bolstered by its FAA-certified staff and industry support makes our graduates some of the most sought-after in the aviation industry.

In the spring of 2012, the opening of the state-of-the-art 82,000-square-foot Col. James T. Connally Aerospace Center will join all of the aviation programs into one facility.

Rich History

The TSTC Waco Airport has a rich and full history. Originally opened as the Waco Army Air Field on May 4, 1942, the 2,100 acre site had a name change in 1949 to honor the memory of Col. James T. Connally, a local pilot killed in a B-29 raid over Japan.

Building Futures

The new center will address the future needs of the college's industry partners in areas such as composite materials, air logistics, aircraft interior and aerospace operations.
