Location

The TSTC Waco Airport is located less than one mile from I-35 on the Texas State Technical College Waco campus, eight miles north of downtown Waco which is central to the four largest cities in the state. The Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex is 90 miles to the north; Houston is 180 miles to the southeast; San Antonio is 180 miles southwest; and Austin lies 100 miles to the south down I-35.

The I-35 corridor is one of the fastest growing areas in the nation. Projections indicate that economic development along the corridor will continue to outpace the growth of the rest of the state and much of the Sunbelt.

Major economic impact along the corridor includes key growth in high technology industries. Additionally, the I-35 corridor is home to many transportation, construction and communication industries.

In March 2004, Waco was named by Inc. Magazine as the sixth top small metro area in the South for doing business in America.

The airport at Texas State Technical College Waco is a full-service flight facility located on the site that once served as James Connally Air Force Base. Outstanding features include two parallel runways that can be used for simultaneous approach and departure. The primary runway measures 8,600 feet by 150 feet; the dimensions of the alternate runway are 6,400 feet by 150 feet.
