Avionics Ramp Testing Certificate
... A specialization in Avionics Technology
The field of Aviation Electronics (Avionics) has grown and changed at a phenomenal rate in the last decade. Flight management computers, digital audio systems, microprocessor-controlled engine systems and glass cockpits are just a few examples of the new generation of equipment found in today's complex aircraft. You can benefit from the growing need for trained avionics installers and skilled service technicians with the only stand-alone program designed exclusively to train new technicians ... the Avionics Technology program at Texas State Technical College.
The certificate program focuses on the skills and knowledge needed to analyze the operation of avionics systems aboard aircraft, isolate malfunctioning equipment, remove and replace faulty units. The Certificate of Completion curriculum also covers equipment installation, as well as checks and certification requirements as outlined by the FAA. This program is designed for those who want to work in aircraft, instead of performing component-level repairs on the "black boxes."
