Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Medical Imaging Systems Technology graduate, you can look forward to exceptional career opportunities. Graduate duties cover a wide variety of responsibilities, such as trouble-shooting, repairing and calibrating many types of radiology equipment; and providing in-house training on machine operation and safety.

Graduates of the Medical Imaging Systems Technology Specialization may also be responsible for documenting equipment repairs and service; preparing purchasing requisitions and maintaining inventory control measures; and selecting and installing new equipment. MIT graduates might also monitor outside vendors' work and serve on various hospital boards and committees.

MIT graduates hold position titles such as medical imaging systems repair technician, service representative, X-ray service engineer, field service engineer, medical imaging service specialist, X-ray repair technician and radiology equipment specialist.

Industry Standards:
In addition to holding a degree from TSTC, graduates can gain skills and credibility by earning industry certifications. For example, the International Certification Commission (ICC) administers exams to certify experienced Medical Imaging Systems Technology professionals.
