Roles & Responsibilities:
Chemical/Environmental Laboratory Technology graduates qualify for positions such as chemical laboratory technician, chemical technician, laboratory technician, research technician, chemist (smaller companies), environmental technician, analyst, process engineering technician and assistant chemist. A background in chemistry is a powerful springboard to launch you into your career.
 
Employers want technicians who can:
  • Communicate effectively;
  • Work well alone and in a team setting;
  • Follow oral and written instructions and accurately document their observations;
  • Treat data quantitatively using algebra and fundamental statistics;
  • Understand and apply scientific concepts; and
  • Learn new skills and concepts on their own.
Industry Standards:
In addition to earning a degree from TSTC, each CHT graduate receives an ACS certificate based on Chemical/Environmental Laboratory Technology's ACS certification.
