Texas State Technical College's Cooperative Education Program (Co-op) provides students career-focused experiences in their areas of specialization, offering valuable on-the-job experience. The Co-op Program is administrered by the Co-op Coordinator, Workforce Development Office at TSTC Waco. The Workforce Education Course Manual formally defines Co-op Education as: "Career-related activities encountered in the student's area of specilization offered through an individualized agreement among the college, employer and student. Under the supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Includes a lecture component." Co-op Education jobs can be either full-time or part-time paying positions:
Students will be enrolled at TSTC Waco during the semester they undertake Cooperative Education and will receive 3 to 6 semester hours of credit for the 15 weeks of training. The training may be at any approved location. The student will be required to evaluate cooperative training experiences in writing periodically and submit a final evaluation of the entire work period. | ||||
