Students enrolled in distance learning courses only will pay tuition, plus a Distance Learning Fee and Student ID Fee. (Distance Learning/Off-Campus instruction is exempt from Special Use and Student Union fees.) [See Fees ]
Individuals taking distance learning courses must meet deadlines, take scheduled tests, etc., but do not have to be in a classroom at a specific Real-world application time. Those who take courses via the Internet complete assignments on the computer and converse with instructors through e-mail and by telephone. Additionally, each distance learning course syllabus contains a book list. You may order the books from the TSTC Bookstore or purchase them locally. Some, if not all, courses will also require proctored testing. The amount of proctored testing, at the discretion of the course instructor, will be outlined in the course syllabus. It is the student's responsibility to secure and pay for the proctored exam(s).
The Distance Learning Web Page, contains detailed information on distance learning courses, student advisers, e-mail addresses and phone numbers, course syllabi, departmental distance learning specialists and other information of interest to the on-line student.
