Roles & Responsibilities:
CST graduates' job responsibilities include writing and testing software, maintaining software systems, analyzing software needs, and providing new software training for users. Graduate titles include Programmer, Programmer-Analyst, Software Engineer, Systems Analyst, and others. Starting salaries range from $20,000 to $46,000 per year.
 
Employers want technicians who can:
  • Work independently;
  • Adapt to new situations;
  • Be productive very early in their careers; and
  • Work well with their associates.
Industry Standards:

Industry certifications provide extra credibility and upward mobility in the job market. A CST graduate can earn certification as an Associate Computing Professional (ACP) from the Institute for Certification of Computer Professionals. Some students complete ACP certification language proficiency criteria while enrolled.

Computer Science Technology is a member of the Oracle Academic Initiative, and Oracle Corporation curriculum is used. The student who masters the courses in this curriculum is encouraged to pursue Oracle certification.
