Graphics, Gaming & Simulation Artists
...A specialization in Computer Science Technology
The Graphics, Gaming & Simulation Design specialization
in the Computer Science Technology department offers an
associate degree in Graphics, Gaming and Simulation for
Design Artists. Our Faculty expertise, multiple computer
labs and industry contacts gives the students the advantage
they need to get ahead and make a place for themselves in the
Game Industry.
Our curriculum for the artist track specializes in game modeling,
animation and texturing. We use the latest industry-standard
software such as 3-DS Max, Photoshop, MotionBuilder,
ZBrush and Combustion.
As a student, you will receive hands-on instruction in techniques
ranging from low poly modeling to high poly modeling
and from unwrapping to texture creations. You will also
receive training on our Vicon 8i Motion Capture system, which
is used extensively in our Project Development courses.
This degree plan ends with a Comprehensive Software Project, in which the student designs and develops a portfolio of Graphics, Gaming and Simulation programming to present to potential employers.
In this specialization, students learn to design and create
systems and programs to meet the graphics and simulation
programming needs of business and industry. Upon successful
completion of the requirements, TSTC will award you an
Associate of Applied Science degree. As a graduate, you can
seek positions in the industry as an entry-level programmer
with knowledge and skills applicable to computer graphics
and simulation.
