Roles & Responsibilities:

CST graduates' job responsibilities include writing and testing software, maintaining software systems, analyzing software needs, and providing new software training for users. Graduate titles include Programmer, Programmer-Analyst, Software Engineer, Systems Analyst, and others. Starting salaries range from $20,000 to $46,000 per year.

Industry Standards:

IIndustry certifications provide extra credibility and upward mobility in the job market. A CST graduate can earn certification as an Associate Computing Professional (ACP) from the Institute for Certification of Computer Professionals. Some students complete ACP certification language proficiency criteria while enrolled.

CST students can also qualify for other industry certifications, such as OCP—Oracle Certified Programmer; MCSD—Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer; IBM Certified Specialist—AS/400 RPG Programmer; IBM Certified Specialist—AS/400 Associate Systems Administrator; Java Programmer; and more.
