| Appliance Technician Training Academy |
| |

National and State labor market projections indicate an increase in the need
for skilled appliance technicians, with an average hourly wage projected to
be $16. To help ensure companies have skilled technicians to meet current
and future workforce demands, Texas State Technical College has developed an
Appliance Technician training program. TSTC's new training academy offers
10 weeks of intensive training, from 35 to 40 hours per week, providing
participants the opportunity to gain the skills necessary to enter the
appliance service industry as a repair technician. In order to provide
quality hands-on training, each session will be limited to a maximum of 18
participants

The core training curriculum consists of:
Basic electricity and electronics;
Refrigeration principles and refrigerators;
Ranges;
Dishwashers;
Microwaves;
Clothes Washers; and
Clothes Dryers.

And the program is affordable. The training academy, including tuition, fees
and required tools is only $3,350 per participant. For information on a
