This module is designed to provide the student with the basic understanding
critical to successfully operating the different types of Robotic
Manipulators used in ROV operations. This module involves lecture,
educational films and hands on exercises.

This module teaches the basic fundamentals of electricity and electronics
involving robotic and remote systems. There will hands on exercises,
lectures and films offered during this module.
- Fundamentals of electricity
- Electrical components
- Capacitors, circuits and motors
- Multi meters, TDRs, oscilloscopes
- Soldering and ROV cable termination
- Schematic reading and lab kit assemblies
- Troubleshooting and maintenance

This module is designed for beginning students. The module teaches the basic
hydraulic principles related to remotely operated vehicles. There will hands
on exercises, lectures and films offered during this module.
- Hydraulic systems and schematics
- Fittings and thread identification
- Hydraulic circuits, valves, manifolds
- Troubleshooting and maintenance
- Symbol identification and interpretations
- Cylinders, compensators and actuators
- Directional, relief control valves and filters
- Fluids, hoses, tubing, bend restrictions

This module is designed for students that are entering the ROV field of
operations for the first time. The students will be advised of his or her
expected behavior and work rules during off shore and onshore operations.
The student will also learn critical information about health, safety,
environmental and quality requirements to be followed when working in the
field.
This module involves lecture, educational films and hands-on exercises.

This is an intense module involving ROVs and their basic operations.
Students learn from hands on activities with different components of ROVs.
- Different types of ROVs, Heavy work class to Inspections type ROVs and
their applications
- Acoustics fundamentals, equipment, and applications
- Connectors, cable splicing, cable terminations
- Electrical systems, floatation, frames, lights, cameras
- Control panels, wiring diagrams, manual interpretation
- Troubleshooting and maintenance
- Water integrity, water pressures, visibility
- Special ROV Tooling

This course teaches the fundamentals of fiber optics and applications to ROV
equipment used for on- and off shore applications. There will be labs,
lectures and films offered during this course.
- Fiber Optic Safety, PPEs
- Fiber Optic Cable Termination, Connecters, Stripers
- Troubleshooting, Design Fiber Optic Cables
- Test Equipment, OTDR, Power Source Meters, Scopes
- Fusion Splices, Cleavers, Pucks, Fiber Polishing
- Single Mode and Multi Mode Fiber

During this module, student can learn the basics of ROV and Robotics
Operations and the teamwork involved for successful onshore and off shore
operations. There will lectures, films and hands on exercises offered.
- Health, Safety and Environmental considerations
- Mob and Demob Task
- High Voltages Safety, Lock Out Tag Out
- Rigging, special ROV onshore applications
- Offshore Pipeline, Platform, Survey Inspection
- Daily Log Records, Inventory Control Records

This is an intense module involving mob and demob skills. Students will be
asked to perform hands on piloting activities and troubleshooting.

- Launch and scope of work, tasks to be preformed
