SubSea Robotics Training Center
TSTC Corporate College's ROV Training Center
is designed to provide its students the specific industry training needed.
The courses were developed in cooperation with ROV companies to ensure that
the course content and objectives meet the industry's established competency
schemes. Taught by experienced industry professionals, the courses can
enhance student's basic skills and knowledge in areas of off shore/onshore
safety and life styles, electronic/electrical, rigging, hydraulics, and
fiber optics, troubleshooting and piloting skills.
In keeping with Texas State Technical
College's tradition of hands on education and training, students not only
hear about how to do it, they actually perform the tasks in labs,
classrooms, and field exercises that emulate the workplace.
The eight week basic ROV and fiber optic
training courses contain 356 hours of intensive training. Held on the TSTC
Waco campus, the programs. courses can provide students with the basic
knowledge and skills needed to perform onshore and off shore robotic and
remotely operated vehicle operations.
The ROV program follows the guidelines and
competency schemes set forth by the International Marine Contractors
Association, The Association of Diving Contractors, The International
Association of Drilling Contractors and The Electrical Technician
Association.
