At Texas State Technical College, the Diesel Equipment Technology (DET) program offers specializations in Agriculture Equipment, Caterpillar Dealer Prep Program, Construction Equipment, Heavy Truck, John Deere Construction & Forestry and Outdoor Power Equipment.

The DET program is unique from other two-year diesel programs because of the industry contacts and training equipment. TSTC faculty members work closely with related diesel industries to develop curriculum that meets the workforce demands. TSTC also provides training and experience on the latest equipment available. In addition, the Diesel Equipment Technology program at TSTC offers one of only two programs in Texas certified by NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation).
