Construction Equipment Specialization
... A specialization in Diesel Equipment Technology
The U.S. Department of Commerce places the current seasonally adjusted annual rate of American construction at more than $700 billion. These figures continue to climb each year, from $25 billion in 1950, with technology further fueling industry growth. Development of the construction industry feeds the demand for skilled, knowledgeable diesel technicians.
Excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, graders, scrapers ... the monstrous machines that construct our highways, shopping centers and homes are advanced pieces of equipment that require trained, competent technicians to repair and maintain them.
The Construction Equipment Specialization, offered by TSTC's Diesel Equipment Technology (DET) program, offers the intense, hands-on technical training needed to repair and maintain the complex construction equipment vital to today's economy. The DET program at TSTC provides the diesel and construction equipment training that can lead to exceptional career opportunities and outstanding financial rewards in industry.
TSTC's Diesel Equipment Technology program also provides superior education and training specializations in Agriculture Equipment, Heavy Truck, Outdoor Power Equipment, John Deere Construction & Forestry and Caterpillar Dealer Prep Program.
The DET program is unique from other two-year diesel programs because of the industry contacts and training equipment. TSTC faculty members work closely with the related diesel industries to develop curriculum that meets the workforce demands. TSTC also provides training and experience on the latest equipment available. In addition, the Diesel Equipment Technology program at TSTC offers one of only two programs in Texas certified by NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation). |
