Roles & Responsibilities:
EPC graduates who specialize in Electrical Systems can look forward to top-notch career opportunities as automation specialists, building maintenance technicians, electricians, electrical maintenance technicians, electrical systems designers, engineering assistants, industrial maintenance engineers, motor control specialists, relay testing technicians, and residential electricians. Graduate job responsibilities may include designing systems or installing, testing, troubleshooting and maintaining an assortment of electrical equipment such as motors, drives and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
 
Employers want technicians who can:
  • Follow instructions and document observations;
  • Understand and apply scientific concepts;
  • Operate with minimal supervision;
  • Work well alone or as part of a team; and
  • Learn new skills and concepts on their own.
Industry Standards:
Texas State Technical College Waco conferred more associate's degrees than any Texas public college in engineering-related technologies/technicians. TSTC Waco is also the No. 1 Texas college in awarding communication & information sciences associate's degrees.
