If a student has paid his or her deposit to family housing and decides prior to their move – in date that they have changed their mind and do not wish to lease a family housing unit then they are entitled to a full refund of the $300 deposit. If a person's application is denied for any reason or if housing does not become available for the student then the student is also entitled to a full refund of their deposit.
Upon termination of the student's lease, the student will be refunded their deposit in its entirety provided that the student has not breached the lease agreement and that the unit is returned to the Family Housing Office in the same condition as when the unit was leased to the student. A 30-day notice to vacate is required by all leases and rental charges will continue to accrue until the Family Housing Office receives the keys. Any unpaid rental amounts, cleaning or damage charges shall be deducted from the deposit before the deposit is refunded to the student. |
