Turfnet ranks TSTC’s golf
course program 9th in the nation
(WACO) —
McLennan County can add another feather in its
educational cap, thanks to TurfNet
Magazine naming Texas State Technical College Waco’s Golf Course
& Landscape Management (GLM) program to its national Top 10 slot
recently.
The
July 2007 issue of the Turfnet
ranked
TSTC’s GLM certificate program No. 9 in its Top Turf Schools in the
nation, joining the likes of Rutgers,
Michigan State and Pennsylvania State
universities.
The
magazine also gave the GLM associate degree program a ranking of 14 among
the Top
Turf Schools, out of 57 schools that offer turfgrass management certificates
and degrees. The issue additionally features TSTC student Trey Cummings in
an article
about junior colleges filling a need for trained turfgrass
workers.
“Our
faculty and staff work hard to ensure students receive a practical education
that can further their career in the industry,” said Terry Ehrhardt,
GLM
department chair. “We’re so pleased to see that hard work
acknowledged.”
