Roles & Responsibilities:
Graduates of the Golf Course & Landscape Equipment Technician Specialization have many exciting career opportunities in Texas, the United States and abroad, with titles such as golf course superintendent, grounds manager, landscape contractor and others.

The responsibility held by these professionals continues to grow. Golf Course & Landscape Equipment Technicians must know about turf care, horticulture, soils, erosion prevention and irrigation, while having skills with landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment. Businesses also rely on Golf Course & Landscape Equipment Technicians to know how and when to mix and apply fertilizers and pesticides. Some design and develop installation and maintenance plans for landscapes and grounds management; estimate and track project costs; handle personnel issues; and ensure compliance with federal environmental regulations.

 
Employers want GLM technicians who can:
  • Apply scientific and mathematic concepts;
  • Use, maintain and repair complex equipment;
  • Work with minimal supervision; and
  • Quickly grasp new concepts and techniques.
Industry Standards:
