Commencement Steps

Step 1— Between the first and sixth week of the semester in which you expect to graduate, you are required to complete the Graduation Application online on WebAdvisor. The deadline to apply for spring 2015 graduation is Friday, Feb. 20.

Step 2— Between the third and twelfth weeks of the semester, the Office of Admissions & Records will process and complete degree audits, graduation certification sheets and any outstanding substitutions or transfers.

Step 3 — All graduates must attend Operation Graduation! Sessions are currently to be announced. Tickets for graduation will be given at the sessions (up to 8 tickets per graduate). Click here for information.

Step 4 — Purchase a cap and gown and invitations for your family and friends at the TSTC Bookstore.  If using a previously owned cap and gown, it will need to be black. Cap tassels can be purchased at the TSTC Bookstore. Graduation caps must be worn and may not be decorated.

Step 5 — If you are a candidate for graduation, you may participate in the Commencement Ceremony at the end of your last semester.
The spring 2015 Commencement ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Friday, May 1, at the Waco Convention Center. The Waco Convention Center is located at 100 Washington Ave.
Step 6 — On the day of the Commencement you will:
  • wear dark slacks/skirt and shoes
  • check in by 5:30 p.m.
  • put on your cap & gown (black)
  • By 6:15 p.m. you should be lined up alphabetically (within your program/technology).
  • file in
  • sit in rows
  • be ushered to go up and shake hands with the President to receive your graduate letter (actual diploma will be mailed to you after grades are verified)
  • return to seating from other side
Step 7 — At 6:20 p.m., family and friends will be asked to find a seat so that we may finalize the line up for the processional. Tickets are required for family and friends to attend graduation. You will recieve up to 8 tickets at Operation Graduation. Click here for details. We ask guests not to save seats—it is first come, first serve.
