| The Instructional Training Academy provides an orientation for new instructors to both Texas State Technical College and/or to the role of Instructor. The course is designed to provide training for you, the new instructor, so you can acquire and demonstrate the teaching competencies necessary to be successful as an Instructor. |

| For the experienced instructor who is new to TSTC, the Instructional Training Academy provides a review of previously acquired teaching skills as well as an orientation to policies and procedures unique to TSTC. For individuals recruited from industry, it provides ground work of information, resources, and practice with teaching and learning methods, class management, instructional technology, and course structure. It also serves to familiarize newcomers with TSTC’s administrative procedures, responsibilities and organizational structure.

| The Instructional Training Academy offers new faculty members the opportunity to meet and interact with instructors from other occupational areas. Attendance is required for all new permanent faculty members and any other faculty as designated by the Vice President for Student Learning. Current faculty members are welcome to audit any of the lessons as a refresher/problem-solving course.
