Roles & Responsibilities:
ICR graduates who specialize in Computerized Control Systems can look forward to excellent career opportunities with positions in: engineering and design; installation and calibration; maintenance, testing and troubleshooting; computer instrumentation and robotic interfacing; networking; sales; and electrical construction. Titles include application instrument engineer, automation specialist, computer instrumentation interface technician, control system technician, engineering technician, networking system specialist and more.

Graduates also hold a variety of job responsibilities, such as installing, calibrating and maintaining the vast assortment of monitoring and control equipment found in industry today.

 
Employers want technicians who can:
  • Follow instructions and document observations;
  • Understand and apply scientific concepts;
  • Operate with minimal supervision;
  • Work well alone or as part of a team; and
  • Learn new skills and concepts on their own.
Industry Standards:
TSTC has conferred more associate degrees than any public two-year college in the nation in the Engineering-related Technologies/Technicians category and in the state of Texas in Communication and Information Sciences and Support Services category, according to June 2009 edition of "Community College Week" magazine.
