Media Relations
Marketing & Communications is the first point of contact for news media seeking information about Texas State Technical College. Media Communications professionals assist print, broadcast and online reporters in identifying faculty and staff experts and arranging interviews. The office issues news releases and advisories to help the media stay on top of the latest news at TSTC.

TSTC Marketing & Communication offices are open weekdays 8 a.m.-5 p.m. but your designated media contacts are also available after hours to the media. If an employee is contacted directly by a member of the news media and asked to provide any information regarding events, activities, students or other information, it is TSTC’s policy for employees to refer all questions by news media to the Marketing Department first.

According to TSTC system operating standards, “The campus public affairs officer, or when necessary the System public affairs officer, should be the first contact for all news purposes:

  • to set-up interviews with appropriate individuals;
  • to facilitate the media interview;
  • to ensure the public information office is being informed of news communications which affects its campus; and
  • to ensure that in crisis or other situations which bring media attention
  • to the campus, media contacts are channeled through the public information office.”
