Roles & Responsibilities:
Graduates of the MCI program can qualify for positions as media technicians, audio/visual technicians, video technicians, media specialists, photographers and graphic designers.
 
Employers want technicians who can:
  • Interpret and follow written and verbal instructions;
  • Meet deadlines;
  • Produce innovative, materials;
  • Acquire new skills independently; and
  • Keep abreast of technological advancements.

Media communication professionals must have a keen sense of detail to skillfully analyze the client's message, determine the intended audience and the environment in which that audience will receive the message. The media communication specialist also selects the appropriate medium to use, and then produces the most effective materials to meet the demands of the client and the audience. In addition, these technicians often work on stringent, industry-based deadlines.

 
Industry Standards:
In addition to holding a degree from TSTC, graduates can build skills and credibility in the job market by earning industry certifications.
