What should I do if HP Laserjet 4500, 4500(n, dn) Printing blank pages?
With the printer display showing ready (not in power save mode), open drawer 1 completely. Close the drawer completely and wait for the display to say ready. Printing should resume normally. This error usually occurs after the printer has been powered down or been in power save mode. There is a timing problem with the Intermediate Transfer Belt in that drawer. This problem should be solved when that ITB cartridge is replaced.

What should I do if I get the error message drum life low on a HP Laserjet 4500, 4550 (n, dn)?
This is a yellow light heads up. You should get 1 to 2 thousand more printouts after this message first appears. Open the upper most drawer and write down the HP part number shown on top of the blue-handled cartridge, the number should start with the letter c. Send that information to purchasing as soon as the message first appears. Once the drum life is out, the printer WILL NOT function at all until that cartridge is replaced.

You should remove the paper tray and make sure that the blue tab that holds the paper in place is set in the correct position for the size of paper you are using. If it is moved to the A4 position and you are using 8 ½ x 11 paper, you will get this message. Call ext. 3375 if you need further assistance.
