What is New Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation is an introduction to TSTC's campus and student life.

Why attend New Student Orientation?

Orientation is a required program for all incoming students that will help you prepare for your transition into college life, as well as the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Also, students who attend orientation are more likely to stay in college and be satisfied with their college experiences, more likely to get better grades and more likely to graduate. Students must only attend one session and parents are also welcome to attend.

NSO Sessions will touch on the most important items. A handbook will be given and students will be encouraged to use it for more information. If you are receiving student loans from Financial Aid, you will also be able to attend the Loan Information Sessions (LIS). Attending the New Student Orientation and the Loan Information Sessions will take about 2 hours total.

These sessions are in the JBC Auditorium

Tuesday, December 15, 8:30am to 11am
Thursday, December 17, 2:30pm to 5pm
Tuesday, January 5, 8:30am to 11am
Friday, January 8, 2:30pm to 5pm

Super Saturday
This session will be in the REC Center
Tentative, Saturday, January 9, 10am to noon at the Rec Center

Make-up Sessions are offered to students that can not make any other orientation session. The session will touch on the most important items. A handbook will be given and students will be encouraged to use it for more information. The Loan Information Sessions (LIS) will NOT be offered with the session. You will need to contact Financial Aid to make sure you know the times and locations for these sessions, 254-867-4814. These sessions will take about 45 minutes.

All Final Make-up Sessions are in the JBC Auditorium

Tuesday, January 12, noon to 1pm
Wednesday, January 13, noon to 1pm
Thursday, January 14, 5pm to 6pm
