A career for the caring.
If you want to be a part of helping people change their lives and truly make a difference; this career is for you.
Create hope: it’s a sobering experience.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a 30 percent growth in jobs in Texas through 2024. Businesses are noticing the advantages of offering employees mental health benefits and programs, and that's great news for those interested in this field. In TSTC's Chemical Dependency Counseling program, you'll learn from Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (LCDC) who have years of experience in the chemical dependency treatment field, having worked in the criminal justice system, mental health and community supervision programs.
TSTC offers an associate degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling that will allow you to become a practicing Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern. If you currently have a degree in the human services field, we offer a certification that requires just 24 hours to complete and will enable you to secure your Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern credential. You, too, can join our many graduates working at companies like Abilene Regional Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Homeward Bound, Management & Training Corporation, Summer Sky Residential Treatment, Serenity Foundation, Salvation Army, Taylor County Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and Texas Juvenile Justice Department.
