Photo of TSTC students working on John Deere equipment in the Diesel Equipment Technology lab.If you’re the kind of person who likes to get their hands dirty, literally, Diesel Technology might be your calling. This program will allow you the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and challenge mechanical and problem solving skills. You definitely won’t be stuck behind a desk in this career! You’ll be working on an array of machines that utilize diesel technology.

The best news? Opportunities in this field are wide open. You can specialize in trucks, construction, agricultural, and oil field equipment, public transportation, power generators and marine applications like boats and ships!

TSTC’s star power prep

  • Students receive training that prepares them for the ever changing technology in the diesel industry. From microprocessors to fuel injectors, students use and learn about cutting edge technology in this field.
  • We offer small classes with individualized attention from experienced instructors
  • Did you know that most Diesel Equipment Technology students are employed before the end of their last semester and almost every graduate from this program is working full time when they leave?

Faculty

Talk about experience: between them, the instructors at TSTC’s have thousands of hours of experience in this field. Some have spent their entire career working with and teaching others about diesel technology. They work tirelessly to provide each student with the knowledge and one-on-one attention to excel in program and ultimately their career.

Small class size

At TSTC, our Diesel Technology students get one on one attention from our faculty. The student/teacher ratio is 10:1 per class to ensure that instructors have time to foster individualized training.

Students say ...
“One thing that sets TSTC apart from other schools is that the instructors and students know each other. It isn’t like bigger colleges where there are over 100 students in one class. Also with smaller classes the students get more one on one time with the instructors when they have a problem or need something.” -Jeremy Creech

Hands-on learning

When you enter the Diesel Technology program, our instructors want to make sure you get the full experience. They make it a priority to give you tons of hands on learning experiences. They spend most of their time with you in the lab doing complete and partial rebuilds of engines. They also spend time teaching you about individual components that you’ll need to be familiar with on the job.

Advisory Committee

TSTC has placed industry professionals in the driver’s seat with you. Our Advisory Committees are determining what is taught and how it is conveyed to you so that the methods and technology TSTC incorporates are the desired, front line solutions.
