GIS is not just maps, but smart maps that can examine, analyze, and explain numerous layers of information in new ways making critical decisions easier and more effective. The real power behind GIS is that it links information and location through the combining of databases and maps making it of increasing benefit to almost any industry. The latest trend is to integrate GIS with the Web creating opportunities for students who are knowledgeable in GIS along with web applications.
Trained surveyors are in high demand everywhere providing another exciting opportunity for those that like adventure in the outdoors.
