Surveying professionals hold an extensive variety of responsibilities. Using the latest technology available, they gather spatial information and use it for integrating, manipulating, analyzing and displaying data related to positions on the Earth’s surface. The data is then plugged into mapping software to analyze the information and apply it to the specific area needed. Some examples of applications for Surveying technicians include building site selection analysis, drainage design, traffic planning, impact analysis, property assessment and facilities management.
