TSTC Advantage

Photo of female student networking computers. When it comes to solid careers, one of the best choices you can make is anything connected to computers and information technology. That’s because these days jobs in this industry are growing at a rapid rate – with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

In particular, the state of Texas has singled out several hot jobs that are perfect career selections, including Computer Networking and Systems Administration.

You can get an advantage with TSTC ... gaining strong networking and system admin skills and hands-on experience. For more than 45 years now, TSTC has been training students to enter the workforce well-prepared and ready to work.

We do this by offering a hands-on learning environment that’s far superior to the typical textbook training most college students get. Back by faculty members who’ve worked in the field – and an advisory board comprised of industry leaders – you can be sure your training will provide you with a distinct advantage over others competing for the same jobs.

What you’ll do!

  • Small class size with a strong one-on-one instructional approach

  • Opportunities to gain real hands-on experience by working on campus computers or through internships

  • Experienced staff with industry training guided by an advisory board comprised of field experts.

Faculty

TSTC’s faculty comes to the college with years of professional experience in their respective fields. Collectively, they bring hundreds of years of experience to the classroom and can ensure students learn what industry is seeking in its employees.

Added Value

Students in the Home Technology Integration program not only learn computer skills, they learn many additional skills from working on an actual campus housing unit. This, combined with internships and co-ops, gives them a distinct advantage over typical college graduates.

Small class size

At TSTC, our classes average 20 students to ensure instructors have plenty of time to work directly with individual students.

Hands-on learning

Compared to other colleges, TSTC students spend a lot less time in the classroom and much more time in work settings, operating the instruments they will use in their respective fields. Students are engaged in more than 60 percent of their time performing the actual work they will do upon graduating from college. It’s just one of the many ways TSTC ensures you get the strong training you need to succeed in your Home Technology Integration career.
Advisory Committee

TSTC’s strong programs match industry needs, making it easier for graduates to obtain jobs when it comes to hiring time.

How do we do this? As industry professionals, our advisory committees assist the college in determining the courses you study, providing a valuable advantage. They can ensure that what we teach matches what industry is seeking.
