Digital Forensics Technology Associate Degree

Crime in the United States has taken a high-tech turn – to computers, that is. In today's advanced society, computers are often one of the main tools used in everything from security breaches to financial fraud. Because the use of computers in the commission of crimes is so widespread these days, those who understand digital forensics can enter a career field where the demand is soaring.

Digital forensics specialists help investigators solve crimes involving the use of computers and networks. In many cases, the computer becomes the central figure in a crime investigation, due to the digital 'footprints' that are often left behind. Jobs are available in numerous fields — local, state or federal government agencies, law enforcement; prosecutors' offices, legal firms; investigative or security businesses; or even major corporations such as insurance or software development companies, banks and others who need specialists with digital forensics skills.

Students in this program will learn the law and associated investigative processes and related software skills that can teach them to become adept at solving 'cyber' crimes of a digital nature. Using the latest available software and backed by an experienced staff and advisory board comprised of field professionals, students can learn the specialized techniques of computer forensics that can launch an exciting and rewarding career.
