Certificates and ratings attainable are:
New students start in the fall. Before entering the program, they are required to complete a Class II Medical exam, college entrance exams, and any required remediation. Additionally, acceptance into TSTC does not mean acceptance into the APT Program. Due to the high demand for pilot training, an additional application packet is necessary to be completed and presented to the Department Chair for review by a selection board. Applicants will be notified if they have been selected for the fall class start date by mid-summer. For those who have completed certificates prior to enrollment at TSTC, credit can be earned for flying time documented by logbooks, as well as credit for college courses that are equivalent to those offered at TSTC (as per FAR 141 Regulations). To begin the medical application process, go to https://medxpress.faa.gov/. If you need help finding a physician, a helpful link is http://www.faa.gov/pilots/amelocator/. As part of the only state-supported technical college system in Texas, our fees are competitive with similar programs. The Aircraft Pilot Training program is a member of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association. In addition to Aircraft Pilot Training, TSTC offers the following programs approved by the Federal Aviation Administration: Aircraft Dispatch, Air Traffic Control, Avionics and Aviation Maintenance.
