Quality Enhancement Plan
What is a QEP?
The QEP is the Quality Enhancement Plan. Each institution of higher learning within our accreditation agency, (SACS, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools), is required to find the key learning issue that is most prevalent on its campus. Through a very in-depth survey, focus group and workshop process, we found that increasing student success in mathematics is the highest learning issue on our campus at TSTC Waco. We are currently instructing an enhanced developmental math course, and we are testing this course with an enrolled control group. The course is fun, innovative and engaging, and it promises to be a model for future course developments in other areas.
The “We All Add Up” campaign showcases the importance of mathematics in each of our core technologies and degree programs. Since math is a fundamental part of life and the technical skills that each student strives for in their field of endeavor, by improving math skills for students in each technology, we can truly say that together “We All Add Up.”
