Salaries & Advancement:
Salaries for SMT graduates can vary widely, depending on location. Graduates of the SMT program can earn starting salaries ranging from $30,000 to $40,000 per year. With experience, graduates can increase earnings and advance to managerial, supervisory or engineering positions.
 
The Technical Advantage:
TSTC students in Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology use a variety of industry-standard equipment to gain the technical edge, including equipment and software such as:
  • vacuum systems;
  • photolithography equipment;
  • robotic systems;
  • electronic support systems; and
  • computerized inspection and inventory control systems.
Technicians in Demand:
SMT graduates can look forward to excellent positions worldwide. Metropolitan areas offer many openings with major semiconductor manufacturers such as International SEMATECH, Intel, Motorola, Texas Instruments, Dallas Semiconductor, Atmel Corp. and similar industry leaders.
 
Professional Associations:
Students in the SMT program can network with industry professionals through the program's Advisory Committee. SMT students can also participate a student chapter of the program's Photonics Club.
