In 1990, TSTC created the nation's first, two-year, technical associate's degree program in semiconductor manufacturing. International SEMATECH, a consortium of Fortune 500 companies that manufacture semiconductors, developed and continues to support the SMT program's efforts to educate and train skilled professionals for this industry.
