The college has partnered with Higher One, Inc. to bring you an “all-in-one” ID card, the TECH OneCard. With this ID card, you can have the security of a debit account - no more excess cash lying around to get lost or stolen.
Q.  How can I use my TECH OneCard?
A.  The card can be used for all ID card services, such as checking out library books, using the Student Recreation Center, purchasing items from our bookstore and or meal plans from TSTC Cafe. Also, after opening a OneAccount, you can use your card anywhere a MasterCard® debit card is accepted.
Q.  When will I get my TECH OneCard?
A.  The card will be sent directly to the address you have on file with the college once you have registered for classes and taken your ID photo. If you need to update your address, please stop by the Admissions & Records office in the Student Services Center, or fax changes to (254) 867-2250. Photos can be taken at TECH OneCard Services in the Student Services Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Q.  Once I get the card, then what do I do?
A.  In order to use it for on-campus purposes and otherwise, the card will need to be activated by visiting www.techonecard.com.
Q.  What is the OneAccount?
A.  It is an FDIC-insured checking account that enables you to use the TECH OneCard at any of the locations MasterCard Debit is accepted. Cardholders can get cash from ATMs, write checks, send and receive money electronically from their accounts and monitor the details of their accounts online. On campus, you will find an ATM located in the Student Recreation Center.
Q.  Does Higher One run a credit check?
A.  No. Higher One offers a OneAccount to all students, faculty, and staff regardless of their credit history.
Q.  Is the TECH OneCard a credit card?
A.  No. Even though the card bears the MasterCard logo, it is NOT a credit card. It can be used as a debit card if you choose to open the OneAccount.

Q.  What options are available for receiving financial aid and other refunds from the College?     
A.  You may choose one of the following options regarding your disbursement:  
      1.  Open the TECH OneAccount, an FDIC insured bank account. Funds will be direct deposited to this account.
      2.  Have funds direct deposited to the bank of your choice.

Q.  What are the advantages of having my financial aid and refunds directly deposited to my TECH OneAccount?
A.  By electing to have your financial aid and other refunds deposited directly into your TECH OneAccount via an Easy Refund, you have access to your monies more quickly and easily than ever before. The TECH OneAccount is an FDIC-insured bank account that has no monthly fees and no minimum balance. When money is deposited into your account, you will receive an Easy Refund e-mail confirmation. Then you can use your TECH OneCard to access your money or make purchases anywhere MasterCard is accepted. In addition, you will be able to see the details of your TECH OneAccount by accessing your statement at www.techonecard.com.
Q.  What happens if I elect to have my financial aid and other refunds directly deposited to another bank account?
A.  You must activate your TECH OneCard and select the option to have your monies directly deposited into another account. You will then be required to print, complete, and fax the Third Party Form (available at www.techonecard.com) to (866) 309-7443 or (203) 776-7796, or mail it to the address indicated on the form. Or, place the signed form in the Higher One Communication Box. When Higher One receives the form, and your monies are made available by TSTC, your funds will be deposited into your designated bank account in one to three business days.
Q.  Are there fees associated with using the TECH OneAccount?
A.  There can be usual and customary fees associated with the TECH OneAccount:
Q.  If you use a Higher One ATM machine (located in the Student Recreation Center), will I be assessed a fee?
A.  No, but if you use an ATM machine that is not a Higher One designated ATM machine, you will be assessed a fee by that specific institution in addition to a $2.50 per transaction fee charged by Higher One, even for balance inquiries.

If you initiate a debit purchase, by entering your PIN number instead of a signature-based debit card transaction, you will be assessed $.50 cents per transaction.
Q.  Is there a maximum amount I can withdraw on a daily basis through my TECH OneCard?
A.  Yes, there is a maximum daily ATM withdrawal of $500 and a maximum limit of $2,500 on any signature-based debit card transactions.  
Q.  Can I put money on the card?
A.  Yes, you may add money to your TECH OneCard by placing a check or money order in the OneCard Communication Box located next to the ATM in the Student Services Center. For more information, call (254) 867-4825.
Q.  What happens if I never activate my TECH OneCard and I am due financial aid or other refund?
A.A.  You will be sent an e-mail notification, to the email the school has on file, indicating that TSTC has processed a financial aid disbursement or a refund for you. It will advise you to log on to www.techonecard.com to activate your card and select your payment method. Failure to activate your card and select a payment method will result in your financial aid or refund being returned to the college.  
Q.  What happens if I incur charges at TSTC after my financial aid or refund disbursement is processed?
A.  You are responsible for payment of these charges.
Q.  What if I have questions concerning my financial aid or refund disbursement?
A.  Please contact the Financial Aid Office at (254) 867-4814, or the Student Accounting Office at (254) 867-4803.
Q.  What if I have questions concerning the use of the card?
A.  Please visit www.techonecard.com and access EasyHelp. If your prefer, you may stop by TECH OneCard Services in the Student Services Center, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or call (254) 867-4825.
Q.  What if I have questions concerning my banking options?
A.  The fastest and easiest way to get answers to your questions is through EasyHelp at www.techonecard.com, by dialing (877) 663-3939 (located on the back of the card), or by using the Higher One courtesy phone located in the Student Services Center.

Q.  What do I do if my card is lost or stolen?
A.  You may log on to www.techonecard.com and cancel the card, stop by the TECH OneCard office or call Higher One at 1-877-663-3939. There will be a $10 charge to replace the card.
