Women's Resource Center

Texas State Technical College Waco established the Women's Resource Center (WRC) to provide support services, as well as needed personal and social activities for women who enroll in technical education programs. The center offers a comprehensive support system for all students, regardless of the gender, a foundation that they can build upon and draw from as they pursue an education in technical and non-traditional fields. For those who enroll in technical education programs at the College, the center can help build self-esteem, self-confidence and good study skills. The center offers the following services: leadership and training sessions; women's issues counseling; financial planning and assistance; help with parenting skills and issues; aid in locating and securing child day care services; assistance in providing for transportation needs; counseling to help with time management; information and referral to social service agencies; survival skills seminars; networking and mentoring; support groups; and job placement assistance.

The Women's Resource Center at Texas State Technical College Waco fulfills a vital role for students by providing assistance and support for living and learning, as well as needed social activity. The Women's Resource Center provides a foundation that women and all students can build upon and draw from for support as they pursue careers in technical and non-traditional fields. The WRC staff and the activities they provide can help build self-esteem, self-confidence, and good study skills as they pursue quality education for careers in technology.
